Buffy The Vampire Slayer

A message from Danny Strong (Jonathan)

Friday 19 September 2003, by Webmaster

A message from Danny Strong, the actor who portrayed Jonathan on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Dear Family and Friends,

This may come as a surprise to many of you, but I will be running in the New Orleans Marathon next February. I know, I know, you think that this must be joke. Surely any activity that involves me getting off my couch must include a deck of cards. But no, I will in fact be running 26.2 miles, and unlike the last time I attempted this, I will not be carrying a television.

During this six-month training program, I will be logging nearly 500 miles. It’s all part of the National AIDS Marathon Training Program, which raises money for AIDS Project Los Angeles, one of the leading providers of AIDS services in Los Angeles County. The AIDS epidemic is far from over. More than one million Americans, and 40 million others around the world, are now living with HIV. And Los Angeles has the second highest number of people living with AIDS in the nation.

This is why I am committed to raise at least $5000 before December 3rd, although I would like to raise even more. Donations will allow AIDS Project Los Angeles to continue to provide vital services such as prevention education, food banks, transportation, home health care and other important AIDS services — to help keep people alive until there’s a cure. It’s so easy to make a donation, just click on the link below. It only takes a few moments to make a contribution that could enhance the life of someone living with HIV/AIDS.

Thank you for supporting me in this tremendous undertaking. When I hit the road this February to complete the New Orleans Marathon, I’ll know that you helped me and many others along the way.

Sincerely,

Danny Strong
