Buffy The Vampire Slayer

The Centre for Screen Studies will be holding a day event on the analysis of popular television with a particular emphasis on the US series Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The event will take place on 12th June 2004 at the Gilmorehill Centre. Among the contributors will be:

Karen Boyle, Film and Television Studies, University of Glasgow ‘Post-feminist television criticism and Buffy the Vampire Slayer’

Alice Jenkins, English Literature, University of Glasgow ‘Doubles, Robots, and other Inflationary Identities’

Jim Simpson, French, University of Glasgow ’Between the University and the Master?: Languages, Discourses and Disciplines at Sunnydale’

Susan Stuart, Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute, University of Glasgow ‘When ontologies collide: the essential confusion of existence in the Buffyverse’

The day will conclude with a discussion on popular television fiction led by Dr Catherine Johnson, Royal Holloway, University of London
