Alexis Denisof ("Buffy The Vampire Slayer"), husband of Alyson Hannigan, guest stars as Sandy, Robin’s arrogant Metro News co-anchor. Amy Acker (“Angel”) guest stars as Penelope, a graduate student who once had a fling with Barney.

In an attempt to capture Robin’s heart, Ted declares his love to her. Once again, Robin resists and prepares for a weekend away with her co-anchor Sandy. However, Ted makes one last romantic gesture and hopes that fate will bring finally bring them together. Meanwhile, a heated fight between Lily and Marshall about their future might mean the end of their relationship.
