The season finale of “How I Met Your Mother” (8:30 p.m. on WBZ, Ch. 4) finds Ted making one last effort to win Robin back (memo to the producers: No matter how hard you try, this couple isn’t Ross and Rachel).

Alexis Denisof (star Alyson Hannigan’s real-life husband) guests as Robin’s smarmy co-host, and Denisof’s old “Angel” buddy Amy Acker pops up as one of Barney’s many ex-girlfriends.
