Hollywoodreporter.com Alyson HanniganAlyson Hannigan - "How I Met Your Mother" Sitcom missing from list of CBS renewalsSaturday 16 February 2008, by Webmaster CBS has renewed 11 scripted series for next season, including the hit procedurals "NCIS," "Criminal Minds" and the "CSI" trio, the top comedy "Two and a Half Men" as well as promising freshman sitcom "The Big Bang Theory." The other series getting pickups are the dramas "Cold Case," "Without a Trace," "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numbers." Surprisingly, the list doesn’t include Monday comedy "How I Met Your Mother," which also was left hanging last season until an eleventh-hour renewal. The series, recently picked up for nine more episodes this season, has a good chance to return in the fall, sources said. Also up in the air is the fate of four series that are returning soon with originals — freshman cult favorite "Moonlight," "Shark," "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Rules of Engagement" — as well as two dramas that were not picked up for more episodes, "The Unit" and freshman "Cane." The pickup news follows last month’s renewals of two CBS reality series: "Survivor," which has been extended through its 18th season, and "The Amazing Race," which will be back for its 13th edition. CBS’ announcement also follows a slew of scripted renewals this week by ABC and NBC. |
