Alyson Hannigan walks out on Sports Comedy

Actress ALYSON HANNIGAN has quit JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT’s new TV series before its debut because she hates her character.

The former BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER star was slated to play a starring role - as Hewitt’s best friend and assistant - in sports sitcom IN THE GAME, but will now be replaced by former ROSEANNE star SARA GILBERT.

Hannigan says, "My character was pointless and it certainly wasn’t challenging."

    Translation: "This show is crap and I don’t want my name attached to it." Much better this way, since now she’s available for Veronica Mars. :)

    Yep, and now ABC scrapped the whole show. Guess Aly’s character wasn’t the only thing that was pointless and not challenging...

    Joss Whedon doesnot rule the world folks.Alot of people dont know or care that AH played Willow on a show called BTVS. She should of just said the sitcom didnot work out. If she is smart she’d keep the color commentary to a minimum. We love BTVS * I did at least* but we are a small(?) section of the world, if she wants a career she needs to be more tactful. You never know which writer, director or casting director will take this as a bad sign of attitude. Oh yeah I dont like VM.
