Fast National ratings for Wednesday, April 28, 2004 A tight Wednesday ratings race saw FOX come out on top, barely beating NBC. ABC also showed some signs of life. FOX averaged an 8.1 rating/13 share in primetime to finish a tenth of a point ahead of NBC, 8.0/13. ABC was third at 6.6/11, beating CBS’ 6.1/10. The WB averaged 2.7/4 and UPN 1.9/3. The gap between first and second was wider in the adults 18-49 demographic, where FOX led with a 5.7 rating. ABC and NBC tied for second at 4.1. CBS came in at 2.6, followed by The WB, 1.9, and UPN, 1.1. "That ’70s Show" (6.4/11) and "American Idol" (12.8/21) combined to give FOX a 9.6/16 average at 8 p.m. CBS was a distant second with "60 Minutes II," 5.7/10. "Life’s Funniest Moments" finished third for NBC. An hour of "My Wife and Kids" on ABC averaged 4.7/8. "Smallville," 2.8/5, was fifth for The WB. UPN’s "Star Trek: Enterprise" trailed at 2.1/4. ABC’s "The Bachelor" and NBC’s "The West Wing" tied for the lead at 9 p.m., each posting a 7.6/12. FOX dropped to third with "The O.C.," 6.6/10. CBS was fourth with "The King of Queens," 6.2/10, and "Still Standing," 5.6/9. "Angel" staked a 2.7/4 for The WB, beating "I’m Still Alive" on UPN. At 10 p.m., "Law & Order" drew an 11.3/19.
