Angel Laughs ! Angel Jokes ! Angel Smiles !

My, how a difference several years and two hit shows make. The last time I saw David Boreanaz at Press Tour, Mr. Brooding Vamp had as much personality as a slug. I think his longest answer to a question was, "Uh, yeah."

Or was it just, "Yup?" I don’t remember.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the former Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star has become much more talkative and — gasp! — funny.

Mr. Hunky Man smiled. He laughed. He joked. He flirted. He even got in a few digs at the producers of his new Fox show, Bones, in which he plays a steely-eyed FBI agent.

It’s obvious Boreanaz, who has a megawatt smile that could light up Manhattan during a blackout, is much more comfortable with this whole fame thang.

Go, Mr. Hunky Man!

    Just because he didn’t say much before doesn’t mean he had *as much personality as a slug*. It just means he was uncomfortable, and didn’t have that much to say about the character he played so well, but wasn’t himself, in my opinion, a fan of, like us. So he’s glowing ’cause he’s HAPPY. Maybe he feels more like himself again. The generous smiles are certainly a telltail.

    Not famous? Having countless websites about you, thousands of pictures on the internet, a TV show where you’re the lead man and millions of people all over the world knowing who you are is not famous? What is, then?

    I didn’t think it was possible to watch Angel and fail to notice DB’s fantastic sense of humor, but maybe that’s just me. To be fair, maybe that wasn’t coming through in press conferences before, or maybe this writer hasn’t seen David at a press conference for a while (since his Buffy days?). Glad the megawatt smile finally got some notice!

    buffy and angel weren’t THAT widely watched - even the peak numbers were far below shows like Friends, Survivor, Idol, etc, and David Boreanaz is not a household name to any household except that of a Buffy or Angel viewer. Outside of the Buffy/Angel fandom, he IS only barely famous.
