All right, I should be glad that other people work the camera when I write things. I was sitting in my office a couple of days ago talking with the divine Jane Espenson, who has written episode three, when our boss walked in. He stared at the whiteboard, where the entire final season of Angel was laid out. "Are you ever going to erase that and use it?" he asked me, puzzled. We told him it was a historical document. And yet for some reason he gave us a funny look when he walked out... In Hollywood, all dreams are eventually dismantled. Mine is not the only whiteboard left floating like driftwood after the network storm. The board for the last Angel episode also sat in the downstairs hallway for days, and may I say, I like whoever it was who wrote, after what we now know to be the final scene, "Spike and Angel make sweet, sweet love, then dust each other. The End." But that’s all gone now — somehow I doubt the North Shore people, who inherited it, are the big bundle of sentimental goo I am.
