Anthony Stewart Head - "Him & Us" Sitcom - Cattrall defends failed Elton John sitcom

Friday 26 May 2006, by Webmaster

Exclusive: Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall has defended sitcom Him and Us, which she piloted with Elton John for American network ABC, saying it would have made a “great series” but might have been too racey for some audiences.

The show, which was to have followed the life of flamboyant gay rock star Max Flash and his entourage and was loosely based on Sir Elton, has not been picked up by any of the US broadcasters to be turned into a series.

Cattrall, who made her name as sexual predator Samantha in the hit series Sex and the City, told The Stage: “I’m not sure why but it didn’t work out. It would have been a great series, perhaps the subject matter might have been to much for some people.”

Little Britain and Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Anthony Head was set to play the lead, with Cattrall as his manager. John had even written the theme tune for the show.
