With the Halloween season just a couple of months away, tons of horror films are coming-from major releases to DVD premieres-and FANGORIA has been working overtime to keep up with it all. And to fit everything in, the next few issues of the mag will swell up to 100 pages of horror! Fango #256 (pictured), in stores in the next week or so, runs 92 pages, with set visits to THE GRUDGE 2, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING, MASTERS OF HORROR season two and THE COVENANT, Samuel L. Jackson talking up SNAKES ON A PLANE and much more. Click here for the full contents.

Issue #257, on sale September 19, pushes the page count to 100 as we present our first report on SAW III, a major story on FEAST (with exclusive monster pics!), interviews with the ensemble cast of THE GRUDGE 2 and a chat with CHAINSAW: THE BEGINNING director Jonathan Liebesman. You’ll also get a double dose of PUMPKINHEAD with a set visit to the new sequel ASHES TO ASHES and a chronicle of the franchise’s history by original co-scripter Gary Gerani, plus set visits to John Carpenter and Dario Argento’s MASTERS OF HORROR episode and much more!

Fango #258, which hits October 24 (just in time for Halloween!), will again reach 100 pages and feature an interview with Guillermo del Toro on his already acclaimed PAN’S LABYRINTH; SAW III director Darren Lynn Bousman discussing the latest Jigsaw puzzle; location reports on the Dark Castle chiller THE REAPING, the J-horror entry REINCARNATION from GRUDGE director Takashi Shimizu, the Sarah Michelle Gellar-starrer THE RETURN and the Snoop Dogg urban anthology HOOD OF HORROR; and a report on “bit lit,” the recent wave of BUFFY-inspired, femme-centric vampire fiction.

Despite the extra pages, these issues will retain the usual $8.99 cover price. Publisher Norman Jacobs says, “We would like to thank our loyal advertisers who came through for us on these jam-packed fall issues. These valuable customers include Tartan Films, Warner Home Video, Mezco Toys, Bantam, Turner Classic Movies, Pumpkin Patch Pictures, Media Blasters, Joe Blasco Makeup Schools, E.I. Cinema, Anchor Bay Entertainment, Douglas School of Business, Spencer Gifts, Dorchester Publishing, Image Entertainment, Synapse Films, New Line Cinema, Cinema Makeup School, Haunted Festival, MPI, BCI Eclipse, Ted Haines, Smooth-on, Nightmare Haunted House and all the rest. Several of these are newcomers, so we welcome them into the Fango fold.”
