Buffy The Vampire Slayer

1. If the sales are still strong in the future do you have a plan of what will happen to these lines after all the main characters that you feel comfortable with are made? Will you stop, experiment with monsters and secondary characters, or remake previous characters?

As long as the sales are there we plan to stick around, we love this stuff. We’ve already done some remakes so yes to that. As for secondary characters we’ve already done some so yes to that as well. If you mean a line of monsters or obscure characters - sorry no to that.

2. It’s worth a shot so... any new pictures of anything you might feel like showing?

We just showed Angel, Fred & Illyria this week I think that covers it for now.

3. Vampire school girl Darla, come on give us something!

No news since last update.

4. Any chance of releasing accessory sets? I’m sure fans would love to buy a set with some books, weapons, or an exclusive base?

Its something we have given thought to.

5. It was stated before that DST now has the licensing to produce bookends and snow globes. Have they been started yet? Who are the characters that will be featured in these products? When will see pictures, or when do you expect to release them?

Some of those are on our schedule but it will be a while until we have anything we can show.

Future Figure Questions

6. Is releasing three waves before the end of the year still your intention?

We’re going to try. With many of the characters we’re doing now, the actors have approval rights. They have all been very responsive and helpful but they are not always available when WE want them so it messes a little with our early planning.

7. Are all the Lineups going to consist of 2 Characters with a 5:3 figure ratio?

There is not guarantee we will stick to that forever its just a template that’s working right now.

8. How many characters are on your list that have yet to be made or announced?

LOTS - statues, bust, figures etc.. We’ve pretty much planned for all of 06 right now.

9. Is Doyle at all likely? Does he have boxset potential at least?

As I have said sorry but he’s a pretty long shot. There are just so many other characters that fans want.

10. Any chance of a puppet angel in the 6" scale?

Never say never.

11. Will Cordelia or Giles be updated regulars or in box sets or something like that?.

They are on our list - that’s all I’ll say.

12. Is Lindsey a possibility for the next few Angel lines?

Chances are slim.

13. What’s your view on the troublesome trio Andrew, Jonathon and Warren. Are they likely to bee seen in the future in either a regular line up or box set?

We’d like to, but we don’t have scans and would require a major tooling commitment.

14. If Harmony was to be released, would you see her as part of The Angel lineup rather than Buffy?

We don’t have a scan of her and she’s not on the top of the list BUT if we ever did do her it could be like Spike with versions from both shows.

15. Glory was one of the most popular Buffy villains and has lots of variant possibilities. Would you see her as a boxset character or Lineup character?

We have gotten several request for Glory BUT lots of other bad guys are on the fans list as well. Each will be looked at in the context of what we’re doing at the time. Its not really that we say someone it not worthy of the regular line, its more organic than that.

16. What are your views on an Updated Drusilla? Pretty much everyone who has the original was disappointed by it. What are her chances of being remade?

She’s not that high on the list, sorry.

17. What about releasing some of the minor characters in a line with a variant of a major character that has been released (Willow, Anyanka, Spike, etc?)

That’s not really how its set up, we know there is interest is widening the Buffy / Angel figure universe but in order to invest the money required to bring any figure to market there are lots of factors.

Deluxe Figure Questions

18. When will we get to see the Deluxe figures packaging?

It’s still not final yet. We just did color proofs on the insert.

19. Will any of the Deluxe Faith variants have the darker "make-up" scheme that was originally on "Bad Girls" Faith?

All the photos you have seen are prototypes or early samples. We work up until the last possible moment to make the product the best we can.

20. Why so few accessories for the deluxe figures?

Just a way to keep the cost the same as the regular line - its quality not quantity sometimes.

21. Could DST please clarify whether the "jacketed" figures will come with interchangeable "bare" arms or not?

YES I thought I already had. You take off the jacket arm, slide off the "vest" and pop on bare arms.

22. Could DST please clarify whether the "jacketed" figures will have ball-jointed shoulders or not?

With jacket on they will NOT have a ball joint.

23. Do all the deluxe Buffy and Faith variants feature the same hand sculpts? Is there only one "left" hand and one "right" hand or are there alternative versions of either of both?

Yes all versions have "cup" hands so they can hold their accessories and weapons.

24. When will be see "final" photos of the deluxe Buffy and Faith with the finalized accessories and arms?

Still always to go - keep checking Radical Confidential for that and package shots.

25. Will the figures that come with stakes have the new-Spike-wave stakes or the different white-ish looking ones seen on figures.com?

The "White" stake was just a paint variation from the factory, they will be brown.

Bust Question

26. What is the current release date for the Oz busts?

Still looks good for April - if there is some shipping or customs delay that would only push it a little. They are all done.

Playset Questions

27. Will the library set be called a playset or display?

Playset.

28. Any chance of seeing other figures with bases that can be added to the library set e.g. full werewolf Oz with cage?

Not really in the plans.

Angel Figures

29. Is Bad Girls Wesley’s book shelf the same as Tara’s?

Yup

30. Now that we’ve seen Angel and Fred and "Shells" Illyria, I think the main question in everyone’s mind is "Are we gonna get Illyria in her leather suit?"

WHAT there is another version of Illyria? OH NO I better go check with Matt - seems like we might want to look into that.

31. When are we going to see Angel/Fred variants

They debut in the next issue of Toy Fair.

32. How many variants will Fred have excluding Illyria?

Now that would be cheating.

33. Do you think any more Fred/Illyria Variants will appear in box sets or as addition exclusives?

Never say never - but I will say we’re really anxious to see how the versions we’re doing sell, for a number of reasons.

34. Is Illyria a chase variant figure?

Ok I got to give you something I guess - Shells Illyria is a chase, one per case.

35. Is a Sarcophagus base/accessory on the cards for Illyria?

Have you seen the size of that?? Nope sorry, not doing it, not even sure how that would fit on the blister.

36. Could you tell us what episode you based Angel off of? I’m just curious, because the shirt seems familiar, but I am unsure of the episode.

Serenity Figures

37. How far along were the prototypes at WWLA?

Hand made prototypes.

38. How articulated will these be?

About 14 points 6" scale pretty much same as Buffy - for some reason that seemed important.

39. Will they come with bases?

Nope no bases - they stand on their own.

40. Will the variants be shipping to stores in regular cases or be retailer exclusives?

The only exclusive so far is for Previews so that covers a whole lot of ground ASSUMING the retailers order them.

41. Any chance Mal’s hair will be changed? His hairline is too high on both figures, making him look as if he’s balding.

The sculpts are final but what your seeing could be paint or the angle of the photo.

42. Are these sculpts complete scans? Jayne’s arms look too small for the body.

Yes we have scans of several members of the cast. That’s Jayne.

43. Who/What is the third figure? What is the planned release date?

These will be out in time for the movie. We can’t say the third figure, you have to take that up with Universal.
