Myspace.com/brianisfairlyawesome AngelBrian Lynch - "Shadow Puppets" Comic Book - Issue 3 - How to write a comic scriptThursday 23 August 2007, by Webmaster Comic Scripts Okay, so I’ve gotten a few messages asking me the correct format for comic book scripts. Truth is, I have no idea. I know how screenplays work, you type into Final Draft and everything comes out really pretty, but I think there are different ways of doing a comic book script. Best way I can show anyone interested is to simply post a page or so from something you’ve (hopefully) seen so’s you can get an idea. So, without further adieu, let’s post a page of script from SPIKE:SHADOW PUPPETS issue 3! Here’s the page I’ll post the script to:
And here’s the script, from a file called spike_puppets3 (originally titled THE ELMO FACTOR until legal made us change it to TWO TO SEW): PAGE TWO Panel one BACK TO THE WHITE ROOM. Puppet Lorne is talking to Puppet Spike. Make sure we see the egg somewhere in this scene. CAPTION: Tokyo, Japan - Now LORNE What did you say? SPIKE I was simply asking for advice on how to deal with looking this... ...this asinine. Panel two Puppet Lorne gets in Puppet Spike’s face, yells. SPIKE I realize you don’t normally look THIS degree of asinine, your mean average is ever so slightly lower--- LORNE (big letters) I have never looked asinine! SPIKE Be serious. Panel three Lorne can’t believe what he said, he puts his hand over his mouth, shocked. Puppet Betta George hovers over. LORNE Whoa. Sweet Lady Marmalade, I’ve gone all Joan Crawford. BETTA GEORGE Don’t blame yourself, you simply have the proportionate excitability of a puppet your size. Panel four Match shot of panel three. They stare at him for a while. Panel five Match shot of panel three and four. Spike and Lorne LAUGH hysterically. SPIKE HAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOOK AT THE WEE LITTLE PUPPET FISH! LORNE HE LOOKS EVEN MORE ASININE THAN ME! Hey, wait. Wasn’t that something? And hey, just for fun, let’s post a line of dialog from ANGEL: AFTER THE FALL issue 1! Whedonesque and Whedonopolis links in 5...4...3..2.. ANGEL It’s not work when you love what you do. Wow! I hope this makes everyone happy. Peace out! |
