Official Announcements from the PR companies

Complete The Slayer Collection on DVD!
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have announced four more disks in the "Slayer Collection" for release 1st November priced at £12.99. . These four separate DVDs are each dedicated to one member of the Slayer cast, and contain their most defining moments. Fox have also announced a ’Complete Your Collection’ promotion which began on 18th October 2004 and is the final chance for fans to collect the traditional ’book-style’ box sets before the packaging is withdrawn. The offer will apply to seasons one to seven of Buffy, and one to four of Angel, and is the lowest ever price that the box sets have been available for. Each season will be £49.99 each (Season 1 only rrp. £34.99).

Here’s the PR for the four "Slayer Collection" disks.

Born and raised in Sunnydale, Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter) is a self-centred cheerleader who always speaks her mind. After an initial rivalry with Buffy, Cordy gradually became part of the Scooby gang and started a relationship with Xander. The four episodes in Cordelia’s collection take us through her break up with Xander, her crush on Wesley, and her horror at not being crowned the Homecoming Queen! Buffy’s younger sister Dawn Summers (Michelle Trachtenberg) is ’The Key’ hidden in the form of a human girl. Implanted memories in Buffy and Dawn’s friends and families made it seem like Dawn had always been a part of their lives. During Dawn’s journey, she discovers the real truth about her beginnings, and her life is saved by Buffy’s selfless sacrifice.

Destined from birth to be a Watcher, Rupert Giles (Anthony Head) was assigned to Buffy in Sunnydale by the Watcher’s Council. While working as the Sunnydale High librarian, Giles develops a close father-like bond with Buffy. Giles’ story sees him fired from his post as Watcher, but re-instated after a plea to the council from Buffy. During his unemployment, Giles takes over a magic shop, and turns it into a successful business. Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendon) has lived in Sunnydale all his life, and has been best friends with Willow since childhood. Despite his sense of humour, his track record in the romance department has been less than encouraging - he was turned down by Buffy, was kicked out by Faith after a one night stand, and went to the prom with an ex-demon (Anya played by Emma Caulfield). Although Xander and Anya eventually become engaged, all does not run to plan on the wedding day!

The four Slayer Collection DVDs not only allow fans to relive their favourite moments with all the gang, but the focus on each character highlights their individual stories and their place in the overall Buffy mythology. Each DVD includes a 15-minute character profile featurette, revealing insights into Cordelia, Dawn, Giles and Xander. These new titles sit perfectly alongside the first set of releases (Angel, Spike, Willow and Faith), which were released in March 2004, completing The Slayer Collection. Take your favourite Buffy character home, a must-buy for any fan!
