No real surprise here... "Innocence" is unanimously considered the episode that made Buffy a hit.

"The second season of Buffy took the Buffy-Angel pas de deux from ecstasy to agony in a now-classic plot arc that catapulted the show from WB teen drama to true TV greatness"

actually Spike never raped Buffy. It was attempted rape.

And as far as the whole ’Innocence’ as the most popular ep, i would defiantely agree. its been quoted somewhere (cant remember where) that if you want to get someone into watching Buffy, sit them down in front of the TV and pop ’Innocence’ into the VCR/DVD.

Although it’d be interesting to see the Nielsen ratings ’Chosen’ got, being the last EVER ep.

In California, like at lot of the USA, the "Age of Consent" is eighteen (18) so Buffy was a minor when Angel had sex with her! So she was raped!!!

Just because the victim (Buffy) agreed to the sex doesn’t mean Angel wasn’t committing a crime.

Angel & Buffy had sex (or Buffy was raped by Angel, or they made sweet, innocent love, whatever) in "Surprise," not "Innocence."

True, Spike never raped Buffy. Never got close.

"The Real Me" featured Dawn reading from her journal, and Harmony & her minions kidnapping Dawn.

  • *Angel* raped Buffy? Hahaha...that’s a good one. Tell me another. ’Innocence’ is definitely one of the high points of the series. Absolutely brilliant, beautiful, and heartbreaking, and it doesn’t hurt to have some amazing acting from both SMG and DB.

You’ve gotta be kidding me. Harmony had minions, they were vamp minions that stole her ceramic unicorns....but still minions. Harm beat Glorificus to the whole kidnapping Dawn scenario, rewatch season 5, you’ll thank me later.

Buffy never got raped by anybody, for heaven’s sake. You could make a "legally it’s rape" argument for Angel, but who cares, since it was consensual and California laws aren’t going to apply to the non-human Angel. Spike pushed Buffy down, she pushed him off before he got anywhere near raping her. And then he immediately stopped trying, and it was over.

We get the idea that both Spike and Angel committed rapes while they were soulless, so I don’t think either one of them is going to win a prize for their soulless behavior in this regard.

Harmony definitely had minions who kidnapped Dawn. They knocked Anya out, and kidnapped Dawn.
