Sarah Michelle Gellar Sarah Michelle Gellar reportedly nixed a guest appearance on the WB’s show, "Angel."

Last May’s final episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" on UPN may be the last time Gellar ever picks up a stake again.

Gellar said she has no plans on reviving the "Buffy" role or to visit her former co-star David Boreanaz anytime soon.

what a bunch of bs! what’s the deal smg? i cant think of any bigger let down to the fans! what a slap in the face. did she give any reason for not wanting to show up? this is even more aggravating than finding out buffy was canceled in the first place!

This really comes as no surprise I have heard on a number of occassions how selfish SMG can be even coming from her own cast. I mean she didn’t even show up to the Buffy wrap up party.

Sarah did not attend the Buffy wrap party because she was in Canada, filming Scooby Doo 2 at the time actually, and couldn’t get away. Fact.

Yes. Sarah is selfish. Y’know, the whole giving seven years of her life to a television show is selfish then wanting a one year break from the character. God, how could she be so egotistical and selfish? Can she not think about anyone but herself. I mean, especially since she is trying to get herself other roles. Why wouldn’t she want to be typecasted as Buffy for the rest of her life? She has to be the most downright bitch in the entire entertainment industry.

By the way, it was all sarcasm. And David can really talk about being bitchy to his fans. I’ve heard quite a few stories from people who have met him, that said his head was a bit too far up his own ass. And had a big whinge when a fan asked to pose for a photo with him.

First of all Sarah didnt show up at the Wrap Party cuz she was shooting. And saying now that Seth was there doesnt give you the damn right to judge her since she had one of the leading roles and Seth didnt. And if you dont have any behind knowledge about the Wrap Party you shouldnt judge her only by that.

Its still Sarah’s decision if she wants to come back or not. Cant she have a year break before she returns. some time ago DB hadnt the best opinion about her. at that point he even said he wouldnt need Buffy over at Angel so why the hell now?

Everytime Sarah is the bad guy. Im so sick of this. Maybe she just dont want to return at this point and maybe if we get another season she will come back for a few episodes. Sarah gave us 7 years of her life and only because she wants now after 7 YEARS to have a break everyone is pissed at her. She has the damn right to get her break. She deserves it. Only cuz she doesnt want to come back at this point doesnt mean that she is selfish in any way!

I know some people who either met her a few times or worked together with her who only have the best opinion about her. So maybe you guys should meet her first before you judge her!!!

what is the most surprising is that Joss still supports her! I mean I luv what she did with the Buffy character, but this ’I need to take on different roles’ approach is maddening. Like Scooby or that Romantic Comedy shit are gonna be more challnging than anything she did on BtVS?! &I cannot state my appreciation enough for what DB said in that recent interview:D

but back to Joss, I understand he still has hopes she may change her mind , but stating it was solely his decision to end BtVS is pure bs!! Aly, Nick, Michelle and James were all signed on for s8! and you could [sadly] continue w/out Anya, but NOT w/out Buffy. So SMG’s decision killed the show!!

Ok I don’t understand why everyone gets mad just because she left the show. If smg wanted to quit then hey what can we do about it? I don’t see any of you guys with the right to be hating her. I mean I’m a pretty big fan and I’m disapointed that I won’t get my weekly dose of buffy but cmon seven years of doing a show that really takes it out of you...then it well get boring after a few years. And then she is married and her husband needs her too. I just don’t understand those people that are like oh "pleeease c’mon back before the hating starts" I mean if your a true fan then there can’t be any "hating" towards sarah. But then that’s just my opinion.and feel free tp reply to my "opinion".

i think the reason why she nixed a guest appearance on Angel is because of Freddie Prinze Jr.! He’s the reason why SMG quit Buffy! It seems like he’s always the freakin’ way!!! Why, is it because he’s jealous of his wife’s success? I mean, it’s just 1 or 2 guest appearances, it’s not like it’s going to take a whole month to do 1 or 2 episodes! And the other reason might be because she’s too busy filming the 3rd Scooby-Doo movie. Tss, like that’s more special than a guest appearance on Angel?! Whatever, but if that’s the reason, then that’s just dumb because Scooby-Doo is only just for kids!

this "reportedly" followed by "nixed" and "said she has no plans on reviving the "Buffy" role or to visit her former co-star David Boreanaz anytime" looks like your typical journalistic rubish. Don’t think anyone should slam smg before they hear/read her own words.

i ve been reading some of these replies and man id have to say lay off. so what if she needs to take a break its not like she hasnt worked her butt off in the last 7 years to give the fans an hour (give or take a few minutes)some of the best viewing i’ve seen so far. we havent heard the bad news from her mouth its all just hearsay so how about we wait and see.

Well all I got say is SMG is a DIVA truly I don’t want her to make an apearance now she can entertain FPJ and please him because it looks like thats all she is good at . I never blamed her when she quit Buffy I was actually on her side and I defended her when her fans let her down, but not now who the hell does she think she is a god, i know she does what she whats and that she needs break from buffy, but I find it bit add that she hasn’t stayed friends with anyone she worked with , hello if i seen a dog everyday for the past 7 years I would consider it my friend even if it wasn’t mine. I mean if she was fight ting with one person i would understan all of them no, but she is frinds with SHannon Dorthey so that says alot everyone hated her what ever show she acted in so that way they can be friend they have a lot in common. As for the rest of the cats I am very proud of them and respect and love all of them.

Its sad but she did work for her fans for seven years. When we thought it was over cuz wb canceled, she gave us 2 more years on upn. She couldve walked then. It kills us cuz we want we want we want. What about what she wants. I dont see anyone killing charisma carpenter for leaving. Shes making an appearance for one last time and still leaving. That was nice of her. The show is just going to have to go on and maybe smg will show up and maybe she wont. Nothing to have a bloody cow over. Everyone has a right to do something else. You all know that when you stay on a show tooo long you get labeled and then its harder to get roles doing other stuff. Her movie career needs care. Its been neglected and her choice of movies to work in (in my opinion) have been poor. Maybe now she’ll focus more on that and move on. If joss really wants to have buffy come to LA hes just gonnna have to find a replacement and hey we might not like it but when has joss ever given us what we wanted?

People are saying that Sarah is selfish? HA your the ones being selfish, she deseerves a break, she gave us an added 2 years of her life when she could have quit at season 5. give her a break, and even if she does come back it will only be for 1 or 2 episodes and when they are over you’ll be angry again! GIVE HER A BREAK BECAUSE SHE DESERVES IT!

well what can I say... I guess she deserves a brake, but filming two ep’s won’t take all that long. I would have LOVED to see what happens with the Spike,Buffy,Angel thing. We will just have to wait and see

no one has actually heard sarah say anything? this article is grossly misleading. it’s taken from another one and because she has lowered herself to come out in her own defense some people are treating her like dirt. she deserves to do what she wants with her career and on her own terms. she took all the flak for ending buffy when joss whedon has made it quite clear it was his decision. she knows we love her and want to see her on angel and i still feel she will do it before the show ends. i want to see her then not in some ratings gimmick depicting the "love triangle" which is a bunch of crap. i will continue to watch her in whatever she does and not judge her for what she doesn’t.

I don’t think that David’s interview about Sarah helped much. I would really love to see her on Angel. but we just have to wait and see.

Wow... you people need to chill. The show is OVER. She has a right to a personal life and to act on whatever show she chooses. Just because she says she isn’t going to make a guest appearance doesn’t mean is won’t happen. But that’s no reason to get all pissy over HER DECISION.

I believe it’s time for her to do something else. When ppl see her they don’t say "hey look SMG" they say "Hey look Buffy" It’s about time that she take’s an other role. 7 years on one show is a long time!! And maybe it’s already to late for her to get other parts than the thug girl. I love to see her on Angel but i also want to see her in movies. If you look to other actors that been to long on one show you will see that alot of them don’t get other role’s in movies. And you don’t see them anymore. It’s over for them!! I don’t want that to happen with SMG. My guess is that she already has to proove that she can do other things than slaying.

I am a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s. A big fan. I’m also a fan of Buffy though. I have read articles about how she’s mean and has a diva-like attitude around the people on the set. I’ve also read articles where the cast has said what a wonderful person she is. It’s hard to know what to believe these. But seeing that SMG told magazines she would return to Angel, and now she isn’t, it does lend me to believe perhaps she wasn’t too fond of the people she worked with.I have also read none of the other castmates knew the show was ending, until they read about it.To me, this would appear as though Sarah is trying to dump her Buffy image, and not be stuck as "Buffy" the rest of her career.Making one guest appearance wouldn’t be bad though, because if she doesn’t, this is the biggest slap in the face to the cast of Angel and to Joss Whedon himself.I do find it strange after seven years of being with the same people, she is not friends with any of them.Whenever I see pictures of the cast at events together, Sarah is never with them. I’ve seen some convention pictures, but I haven’t seen one with her in it.Maybe she doesn’t want to go back because of the people, because she wants to go further in her career, or she feels Buffy is dead and over.Hopefully, she’ll go back, because David Boreanaz did, and Sarah should remember that.

I personally am very disappointed that SMG has turned her back on the people she used to work for and with and especially her fans. She would not be where she is today without "Buffy" and the fans. She owes it to Joss Whedon, David Boreanaz and the fans that supported her over her seven year Buffy stint. She owes all fans the deserved conclusion to Buffy/Angel that they all yearn for. If for no-one but the fans, she should give this closure. She is not doing her reputation any good by refusing to appear. Hopefully she will change her mind and repay David Boreanaz for all the guest appearances he has made on Buffy over the years.

I’m sorry, but I agree with SMG that it’s not time for Buffy to appear on the show. Does anyone who’s actually been *watching* Angel honestly think that there’s any way they can fit her into the story without it seeming like a blatant ratings stunt? We should be DESPERATE to see Buffy before she appears on Angel, and it should be a really big deal (not a "hey, it might makes the ratings spike a whole .01%" deal). Most importantly, it should be NECESSARY to the story, and right now, it’s not. It would just upset the flow of the show.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that I really think this is why SMG doesn’t want to do it. Of course she wants to "distance herself" from Buffy. That’s totally understandable. What’s sad (and not sad at the same time) is the fact that, no matter how many other things she does, Buffy will always be the best. And frankly, Sarah is not a good dramatic actress. In fact, she’s very bad. (Of course, she’s abesolutely hilarious and would be great in comedies..... )

Sarah Michelle Geller is a world class totaly profesional working actor with a huge future before her and naturally as an artist with integrety needs to move on from Buffy.

I really enjoyed watching her work and as she is only 25 I think she has been exceptional in Buffy. funny ,beautifull, droll and hard working (those fight scenes look so hard and tight ) she is an icon of a generation.

I am sure she is respected and respects her previous co stars. Buffy has been a fabulous entertaining story who cares how or what happens we (the audience) dont own it, and we are just lucky to have been offered story lines and characters to follow and inspire wonderfull writing and music.

Look at the big picture, we all are moving on, nothing stays the same and everything changes all the time.

And Thanks Sarah you were great and still watching to see where you go next.

wow!!! ok smg is not selfish i no ending buffy is sad.The show was excellent,i loved it but we have to move on.it’s her decision, she did let her fans down but in away she didnt, and with the hole angel thing i am glade that she decided not to be on the show or be in any of them.thats db show not hers.why should she be in any of the shows.also it wouldnt make any sence to put her in any of them.i wish that she didnt leave btvs but it is her life and maybe she wants to do other things.shes a great actress.so when all of the season of buffy come out on dvd i am going to get them and keep wachting them b/c to me they never got old.and pleople should be glade that she had done 7 seasons not 1,2,or 3 but 7.

also if she deicides to come back to buffy or even be on angel that great, but intill then i am going to have to reaspent her decision,b/c a fan should do that and understand what shes going threw

wow!! smg is not selfish well that’s what i think i dont, no her but wut i see and hear i dont think she is.why do u ppl think she is? because of leaving buffy that not selfish, the people who think she selfish is.she played buffy for 7 years for her self, her fansand for jw.i am sad that it ended, but people have to move on it over and done with.smg is a great actress.btvs was a great show.smg leaving buffy was her decision maybe she didnt want to be non as buffy maybe she wants to do other stuff in her life.she kinda did disapoint her fans but she also didnt.with the hole angel thing i am glade she chosen not to show up in some of the shows why becuase that’s db show he leaft btvs to start his own show.i know that he has shown up in a couple of buffy shows but think bout it if it wasnt for buffy the vampire slayer thier would be no angel so i think db should be thanking smgor i mean jw.sarah is a big girl nd can decide on what she wants to do with her life.also think about this she could have ended it in the 5th season but she didnt she didnt do 1season,2 season or even 5 seasons but she did 7 season.

if she comes back to playng buffy great or even shown up once and a while on angel, but if she doesnt i respect her for her decisions b/c that is wut a fan does. so dont call her selfish.dont listen to the magaizines or publicis b/c that shit is mostly gasap i dont know smg but wut i have seen she doesnt seem such a deva girl but i dont know that.so this is my answer to the qestion.hope u liked it
