Scifiwire.com The Cabin in the Woods"Cabin in the Woods" Movie - Why Joss Whedon’s horror movie will be worth the waitTuesday 12 January 2010, by Webmaster We have to wait another whole year to see Joss Whedon’s The Cabin in the Woods, but it’s going to worth the wait, at least according to one of the stars. Bradley Whitford co-stars in the horror movie—which Drew Goddard directed and Goddard and Whedon co-wrote—and he assures us that the delay to convert the movie to 3-D will ultimately benefit the film. "I think their decision to ’3-D it’ was [because] I think the studio has a lot of confidence in it," Whitford said in a group interview on Monday in Pasadena, Calif., where he was promoting his upcoming TV show, tentatively titled Code 58. "I think it’s going to be good." Whitford admitted that Goddard did not direct the movie with 3-D in mind; the decision to add the third dimension was made after the fact. "Drew mentioned that if you know you’re directing a 3-D movie, there are things that you would do visually," Whitford said. "Knowing it was a 3-D movie, you would obviously direct it differently." Whitford joked about the 3-D effects they would add, but seriously, he has confidence in Goddard and Whedon that it will turn out well. "We’re going to have, like, 3-D coffee cups and stuff like that," Whitford joked, adding, "I love those guys. They have a fierce vision. It’s a fierce, crazy, wonderful movie." Centering on the age-old formula of scary things happening to a group of kids in the forest, Whedon and Goddard have kept plot details under wraps. Whitford could only say who he shares scenes with. "I get to do all my stuff with Richard Jenkins, who’s one of my favorite actors." The Cabin in the Woods now opens Jan. 14, 2011. |
