LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Sunday, July 25, 2004. Alfred Molina’s new high profile from "Spider-Man 2" couldn’t help CBS’ reairing of "The Orient Express," as the Sunday movie’s poor performance helped lead to a close Sunday night race. Overall, CBS averaged a 5.5/10 for the night, just in front of NBC’s 5.1/9. ABC was in third with a 4.0/7, still well ahead of FOX’s 2.6/5 and the 1.1/2 for The WB. Among adults 18-49, though, ABC grabbed the victory with a 2.6 rating. NBC was second in the key demographic with a 2.1 rating, nipping FOX’s 2.0 rating. CBS fell all the way to fourth, beating only the 0.7 rating for The WB. CBS began the night on top with the 6.3/13 for "60 Minutes." NBC was second with "Dateline," which did a 4.1/8. ABC’s "America’s Funniest Home Videos" was good for third, outperforming the 2.3/5 averaged by "King of the Hill" and "Malcolm in the Middle" on FOX. On The WB, "Steve Harvey’s Big Time" was a distant fifth. At 8 p.m., "Cold Case" kept CBS in first with a 6.3/12. NBC held onto second with another hour of "Dateline," which beat the 4.1/7 for a second hour of "America’s Funniest Home Videos" on ABC. FOX averaged a 2.6/5 between "The Simpsons" and "Arrested Development" and The WB trailed with "Charmed." NBC moved into first with the 5.8/10 for "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." ABC was second for the 9 p.m. hour with the 4.8/8 for "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." CBS had a 4.6/8 beginning for "The Orient Express," leaving FOX in fourth with "Simple Life 2" and "Quintuplets." On The WB, "Studio 7" did a 0.9/2. "Crossing Jordan" did a 5.9/10 to give NBC the night’s final hour. CBS was second with the conclusion of its telefilm and ABC was third with the 3.7/7 for "The Days." |
