From Nicholas-brendon.com Buffy The Vampire SlayerCreation Entertainment’s Salute to Buffy and AngelFriday 26 March 2004, by Webmaster Creation Entertainment’s Salute to Buffy and Angel, Secaucus, New Jersey Saturday, March 20, 2004 Today was the day that I was going to meet Nick again. As you can imagine, I was both extremely excited and nervous. It doesn’t matter how many times you meet him, you just can’t help but be happy and giddy. My family and I had left our hotel room and headed in the convention area at around 11:00 in the morning. We had to make sure that all of our tickets were correct and to also purchase extra autograph and photo tickets as well. While waiting I met up with a good online friend, ,Lexie. It’s always great to have people to share your excitement with. The more, the better! At around 3:40 in the afternoon everyone got on line for the photo op with Nick. Within 10 minutes I see Nicky walking up and I lean towards my sister and my friend and whisper, "Oh, God. There’s Nick, I think I’m gonna pass out." Then he walked by me and I shouted, "Hey Nick! How are you doing?" He smiled at me and replied, "Hey! I’m good, and you?" So I shouted back, "I’m doing great! Thanks!" As of that moment, I turned into a five year old. I couldn’t help but smile. As soon as he walked into that room everyones face lit up. 15 minutes later I was ready to have my photo taken with Nick. When he saw me he shouted, "Hey! I remember you! I saw you on line." I started laughing, "Yep! You did." Then we struck up a mini-conversation while taking our photo’s. I couldn’t beleive what was happening. It really was surreal, almost like a dream. After, he said, "Awww, sweetheart, give me a hug!" Then I did, and then Nick said that we should take he photo like that. "Can I kiss you in the next one?" I asked. He smiled and said, "Sure!" WOW! My mind totally blanked. Now I’m kissing Nicky on his cheek. He’s laughing, and the camera wouldn’t go off (hey, I’m *so* not complaining!), and Nick kept saying, "Keep on kissing, keep on kissing.." After about a half a minute the camera snapped the photo. Then Nick grabbed my hand. I then introduced him to my brother and my sister who were in back of me. He laughed and said, "Your parents must’ve had great sex!" After we said our good-byes and left the photo area. I was just so stoked. I couldn’t beleive what had happened. 5:05; Questions and Answers: You can never get bored watching Nicky on stage. Not even when the questions are, well, not so great. He always has such great presence and is so active as well as quick witted. One fan had asked about what he is doing right now. Nick said that he has been attending to a lot of meetings, doing a lot of auditions, and is down right busy. Other questions were extremely common, such as: a) What was it like working with Sarah Michelle/Alyson Hannigan? b) What was it like working with Emma Caulfield? and c) What’s your favorite episode? The answers (I’m para-phrasing Nick): a) "They’re beautiful and talented women. It as great." b) "Again, another beautiful woman. I love her dry humor." c) Hush, The Body, The Zeppo, and he likes Buffy Vs. Dracula a lot. Someone did ask him how he asked Tressa to marry him and he answered really beautifully. He’s a romantic! He said that they both danced and acted out to the song "And We Danced" by Brad Paisley. He said at the end of the music video a man takes out a diamond ring to propose, and that’s exactly what he did with Tressa. :) Also it was asked if he goes online and reads fanfiction. That’s a big nope. Nicky doesn’t really know how to work a computer and confessed that Tressa writes for him half of the time. He said that while filming in Toronto (for Celeste in the City) Tressa encouraged him to take her laptop in place of the iPod that he has. She thought that would be easier for him to learn on. Then he said, teasingly, "What was I going to say? No, bitch!?" After that, more commen questions were asked like, "Who was your favorite writer?" Nicky’s answer: "All of them." he paused. Then in a loud voice said, "Joss!" then he said the names of the others, "Marti, Jane, Doug. I love them all." As I said before, his question and answer sessions are always fantastic. He always has people rolling on the floor with laughter and even he comes out with the most touching and sweetest things. The Q&A was a total of 50 minutes, but it seemed so much shorter. You really get into it. :) 6:05; Autographs Autograph time! I go up with a picture of Nick and an eyepatch that I had brought. When I walk up he smiles and me and greets me with a big "Hey!" The woman next to Nick takes my things and I hand an early birthday gift to him (it was a framed photo of Nicky and Tressa that my brother drew. I also put in two big bags of Skittles and also a birthday card), "It’s a little something from me and my brother." I said. He took the bag right away, placed it down, stood up and said, "Give me a hug!" He comes around the autograph table and grabs me and gives me this huge bear hug and smile. I smiled back and said, "You sure can give some hell of a hug!" and he smiled and said "Yep, I sure do." And then he squeezed my hand. Man, did I feel like I was on cloud nine! I couldn’t beleive what was happening. He was just SO sweet. As I got back to where I was in line, Nicky talked with me a bit more. I was wearing a NickBrendon.com badge and it had fallen off in front of him. For some reason, it just wouldn’t stick onto my clothing. I made a joke about that and apparently it struck his funny bone. It was time to move on, but then Nick told me, "I’ll see you later!" And we both smiled. Around 8:25 P.M. or so: At about this time is when I bumped into Nick in the lobby. He was actually carrying the gift I gave him. I tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around and smiled. Then he gave me another hug. I asked him if he liked it. He said, "Oh, it’s fabulous. It’s nice to see Tressa drawn." He was heading back into his room, but he said that he would catch me in the social. 8:30 P.M.; Dessert Party. The first two guests to arrive were Iyari Limon and Robin Atkin Downes. Iyari approached us first and talk for about five minutes and was nice enough to take photographs with us. She also later came back to talk some more. Robin came second and was also very nice. He spoke with my brother a lot and again was kind enough to take photo’s. About 20 minutes later Robia LaMorte and Stephanie Romanov walk into the room. Then came Nick. Immediately fans gathered around him. And he became very comfy in front of the piano. I had went up there to join him and a group of girls to sing "I’ll Never Tell." Nick was absolutely adorable playing the piano! His favorite key was the end one. No matter what was being played he was hitting it. Then he started to sing, "She’s Got a Way" by Billy Joel. Very cute! He just seemed to have a great time. Then I headed back a to the table for a while to say hi to Stephanie Romanov who, contrary to her character, is so sweet. She individualy said hello to everyone and took photo’s. Robia LaMorte was also so sweet. We talked for a bit. My friend Lexie knows her and introduced us. Then it was back to Nick. :) Shortly after, though, he headed back into his room. The poor guy was exhausted! Sunday, March 21, 2004 11:15 or so in the morning: My sister and I just finished up some breakfast and we decided to go check to see if our photos with Nick are ready. Well, we turn our heads and bam! There he is. I walk up and he noticed me and greeted me again with a big beautiful smile and a hug. I told him that I was so happy to be able to say so long to him. Then we started talking about the previous night. Then he noticed my badge and was like, "Hey, that’s me!" We talked a little bit more and he said, "Alright, this boy needs some breakfast." Shortly after, the rest of my family was in the dining hall eating breakfast and me, my brother, and sister bumped into Nicky again and spoke for a bit. Then we all returned to our tables. As Nick was leaving he came over to say so long. I got another hug and the rest of my family received hand shakes. That was my second Nick experience. I am still in shock and in awe. :) He is the most absolute beautiful and kindest man. He treated me so very special. I had the utmost amazing time and it’s all thanks to this man. |
