Curious Chandler Corgi learns ways of the feline (firefly mention)

Although Jayne Cobb is a purebred dog, he might have some cat in his bloodlines.

Jayne is infinitely curious, inspecting and getting into everything around the house. If his owner, Kellie Ambrosia, leaves her handbag unzipped, Jayne will push it with his nose to get it open. He is constantly investigating, everything from Ambrosia’s shoes to her closet. He even keeps an eye on the fish in Ambrosia’s aquarium.

"His previous owners had cats," the Chandler woman says. "Maybe he got it from them."

What is your pet’s breed?

He is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

How did you choose your pet’s name?

I love the show Firefly from Fox that was on a few years back. My other dog is named Captain Malcolm Reynolds (another character from the show).

Where did you get your pet?

From the azcentral.com classifieds. The people that had him wanted to sell him because he was not getting along with one of their dogs.

What is your pet’s worst habit?

I have to watch Jayne whenever I fill up the dogs’ water bowl. I can’t fill it too high or he will put his front paws in and start splashing around, making a huge mess. Then he’ll run around the house as I try to chase him to dry him off.

Has your pet ever embarrassed you?

Jayne is a very friendly and curious dog. After I first got him, I brought him to PetSmart so I could pick up a few things for him. I put him the cart and we wandered around. Every time he saw a dog, he started trying to jump out, barking and getting excited. He just had to see EVERY dog in the place.

How do you celebrate your pet’s birthday?

I don’t really celebrate birthdays with my dogs, but I do take them to my mom’s house, where she has three bigger dogs.

What is the best thing about your pet?

He is a cuddler. He cuddles with me every night. He puts his nose under my head by my neck when I am lying on my side.

He is a sweetheart and he looks out for me when I am sad. He stays by me at all times making sure I am doing OK or looking for a handout! He has a ton of personality, too!
