Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

"American Idol" (households: 18.1/28, #1; adults 18-49: 12.9, #1) continued to make its presence felt on Wednesday as FOX (households: 12.4/19, #1; adults 18-49: 8.8, #1) took home top honors in both households and adults 18-49.

Lead-out "Bones" (households: 6.9/10, #6; adults 18-49: 4.7, #4) however stumbled, holding less than half of its "Idol" lead-in - 38.12% in households and 36.43% in adults 18-49. Compared with last week’s launch of "Skating With Celebrities" (households: 11.2/17; adults 18-49: 7.2), "Bones" was down 38.39% in households and 34.72% in adults 18-49. Between half-hours, "Bones" also dipped 19.23% in adults 18-49 and 19.74% in households.

ABC (households: 7.2/11, #3; adults 18-49: 4.7, #2) then took the silver in the key demographic thanks to new episodes of "George Lopez" (households: 4.3/7, #11; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T11), "Freddie" (households: 4.1/6, #13; adults 18-49: 2.4, #10), "Lost" (households: 11.3/16, #2; adults 18-49: 8.0, #2) and "Invasion" (households: 6.1/10, #7; adults 18-49: 3.9, #6).

Note that "Invasion’s" retention of "Lost" was just 53.98% in households and 48.75% in adults 18-49.

Taking home the bronze then was CBS (households: 8.4/13, #2; adults 18-49: 3.8, #3) with its mix of "Still Standing" (households: 5.1/8, #10; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T11), "Yes, Dear" (households: 5.3/8, #9; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T11), "Criminal Minds" (households: 10.1/15, #3; adults 18-49: 4.5, #5) and "CSI: NY" (households: 9.9/16, #4; adults 18-49: 5.0, #3).

Stuck in fourth was NBC (households: 5.6/9, #4; adults 18-49: 3.4, #4) with the special "Jamie Foxx: Unpredictable" (households: 4.2/7, #12; adults 18-49: 2.7, #9), a new "The Biggest Loser: Special Edition" (households: 5.4/8, #8; adults 18-49: 3.8, #7) and a repeat of "Law & Order" (households: 7.3/12, #5; adults 18-49: 3.6, #8).

And on the netlets, a new "One Tree Hill" (households: 2.0/3, #14; adults 18-49: 1.3, #14) and a repeat of "Beauty and the Geek" (households: 1.9/3, #15; adults 18-49: 1.2, #15) on The WB (households: 1.9/3, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5) coasted by new episodes of "South Beach" (households: 1.1/2, #17; adults 18-49: 0.6, #17) and "Veronica Mars" (households: 1.5/2, #16; adults 18-49: 0.8, #16) on UPN (households: 1.2/2, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #6).

In the late-night metered markets, NBC’s "Leno" (4.6/12) was the top draw, followed by CBS’ "Letterman" (3.4/9) and ABC’s b>"Nightline" (2.8/7). Rounding out the night then were CBS’ "Ferguson" (1.6/6), ABC’s "Kimmel" (1.4/5) and "Conan" (2.1/8) and "Daly" (1.5/7) on NBC.
