LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) — FOX has filled in a new piece of its fall 2005 launch puzzle as the network confirmed over the weekend "Bones" will launch on Tuesday, September 20 at 8:00/7:00c.

The news, which was posted on the show’s official web site, likely means lead-out "House" will kick off its second season that same night at 9:00/8:00c.

The September 20 date however should prove troublesome for building a consistent audience for "Bones" as Tuesday, October 4 marks the start of FOX’s Major League Baseball playoff coverage with games potentially scheduled every Tuesday for the month of October - October 4 (Division Series, Game 1), October 11 (ALCS, Game 1), October 18 (ALCS, Game 6 - if necessary) and October 25 (World Series, Game 3) - meaning the series could be pre-empted for a month after just two weeks on the air.

In any case, "Bones" is just the second of FOX’s fall newcomers with a start date, the other being "Prison Break" on Monday, August 29.

Update (6:20 p.m.): FOX has since changed its web site with the words "Series Premiere This Fall" now replacing the previous "Series Premiere Tuesday, September 20 at 8:00/7:00c" text.

I don’t understand why all these Buffy and Angel people are moving on to different projects! Don’t they understand that they have an obligation to their fans to continue with Buffy/Angel regardless of what format. I know Angel was cancelled, but still, I’m sure there are other mediums -direct to video, movies- to contimue the stories.

Shame on you Joss, David and everyone else for turning your back on your fans!!!!!

I dont think that they are turning their backs on their fans,both series are over, they’re just ready to move on to different things. Believe me i love Buffy and Angel and i wish so much that they were still on the air. however i am excitied that i will be able to see david and other people from the shows on tv now since i cant see them in buffy/angel anymore.

They can’t be the buffy characters forever. I’m happy to see them working still. I’m exited about David’s new gig. It actually looks good for once. Now if they would only annouce Nick’s show to premier.

I certainly hope you are kidding. I don’t feel they owe us anything. I enjoyed the ride while I was on it and I still can hop on anytime with my DVD’s. I admit that I watch my Angel DVD’s more than my Buffy ones, but that’s because I liked Angel better.

If something on the verse comes along, GREAT!!! If not, they I’ll enjoy my favorite actors from the show(s) in anything I can see them in.

I for one am glad to see some of them getting work and being able to practice their art.

In Italy we’re gettin Angel only NOW (it was on pay tv last year) and I mean the 1st season!!! When are we Italians going to get "Bones"???

Buffy/Angel casts have the right to progress and try other parts.I miss Angel and Buffy too ,but Im willing to see them in other stuff,I too have their DVDs if I want to look back at the memories of a great show..Im for one are looking forwards to see-ing "Bones"staring David Boreanaz.hes a little older but still as hot as ever.Just a pitty its September I have to wait to see this new series.Oh well...

I think that its great that david boreanaz is doin a new series b/c even thought i miss angel and buffy i still watch everything that deals with them or there in (every character of both).......believe me i am huge fan of angel and buffy i really didnt want to see them go ...i cryed on the ending of both b/c i knew it was the end and i wanted more episodes.......but i have every artical that mentions them in it and every dvd seasons of both .......i just miss u guys .....i hope u do something in the future of ur old characters b/c all ur fan would love it ..... bc i know i would !
