The eight team-specific spots in the “Quest for the Cup” campaign will break tonight during game telecasts on VERSUS, TSN and local affiliates. Spots also will air during “NHL on NBC” broadcasts starting Saturday night. “Quest for the Cup” spots feature music from the Warner Bros. film 300 and describe each playoff team’s pursuit of the championship and the Stanley Cup. Mother, New York, and NHL Productions handle. Spend for the effort was not disclosed. Boreanaz, star of the Fox show Bones, is a longtime NHL fan who currently writes an exclusive blog for NHL.com offering hockey fans a unique perspective of his hometown Buffalo Sabres and the Stanley Cup Playoffs. “It’s fun to be the voice of the NHL playoffs and to be part of the NHL,” said Boreanaz in a statement. “Having been born in Buffalo and being so close to Canada, hockey was an institution in my home. I grew up with it, just like every other kid in Buffalo did then and now.” A sample of his hockey depth is his blog from today at NHL.com: “I think the Sabres have a real chance this year. Everyone talks about how deep they are-I totally agree. I was just checking, and they are the only team in the league that has not been shut out yet. GO SABRES!!” |
