"He told me Joss wanted to develop a spin-off based on Angel. I told him it was an unbelievable opportunity and, secondly, a great responsibility. I told him to go for it! Before they started shooting the show, David took me to the set before it was built... We ran into this one gal working and David said, ‘Hello,’ and she said, ‘You better be great because I want to work! We both kind of paused and laughed... I said, ‘You just saw up close and personal that there is going to be a crew of people workin’ on this show that are depending on you. That’s a hell of a lot of pressure, so be loose and lucky with it.’”
