Party time

All the stars weren’t inside Comerica Park on Monday night — some attended the party hosted by the Tigers and Major League Baseball in a tent outside.

Some of the non-baseball celebs spotted included actors Billy Bob Thornton, Lynn Whitfield and David Boreanaz, R&B artist Brian McKnight (who’s singing the national anthem tonight) and new Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis.

The party featured a Motown theme — including coasters made out of real vinyl records.

•Thornton, who’s promoting his "Bad News Bears" remake, also played in Sunday’s celebrity softball game, which ESPN showed Monday night. He said he finds being in Detroit bittersweet, since he’s a Cardinals fan and remembers 1968. He can’t be too fond of Boston these days, either.
