Dido Wins Two More BRIT Awards and Announces No. American Tour Dates

With her RIAA platinum second album, LIFE FOR RENT, moving into its 6th month on the Billboard 200 Albums charts, and two more BRIT awards added to her collection, Arista recording artist Dido has announced her first North American tour dates in three years. As she did in the summer 2001, Dido will again begin her itinerary in Vancouver, this time performing at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on May 17th. The one month headlining tour wraps up at the Pavilion Theatre in Boston on June 19th. (Please see complete itinerary on the next page.)

At the BRIT awards ceremonies last night, Dido was named British Female Solo Artist of the Year (her second BRIT award in that category) and "White Flag" was named British Single of the Year (category voted on by public). In her native England, LIFE FOR RENT entered the national chart at #1 with the biggest first-day sales of 2003, and the biggest first-week sales of any album since 1997 - going on to become the fastest selling million seller by a female solo artist ever, in just 50 days at retail.

The upcoming tour builds on the success of LIFE FOR RENT and its first worldwide single, "White Flag," a top 10 hit on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 and Modern AC charts. The video for "White Flag," featuring a guest appearance by David Boreanaz (of the WB’s "Angel" series) remains active at VH1 after more than five months, making it the longest running video on their current playlist. The second single from the new album is "Don’t Leave Home," whose video directed by Jake Nava will be shot in Cape Town at the beginning of March.

LIFE FOR RENT was a 3 1/2-star Critics’ Choice in People magazine, who called it "a formidable follow-up" to her debut album, No Angel.
