FoxStore.com tries to placate fans over Dollhouse DVD fiasco. The site says "we are actively addressing all issues. If you have been dbl charged, please call Customer Service and you will be refunded promptly" and "due to the heavy volume of traffic, the confirmation emails can be delayed upto 3 hours or more". A simple "sorry" would have been nice.

Demand for ’Dollhouse’ Crashes Fox Servers

Fans hoping to get a Dollhouse: Season One limited-edition boxed set crashed the Foxstore.com server with excessive traffic when preorders opened July 6. The sets will be exclusively distributed at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con International by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

The limited-edition Dollhouse: Season One comes in blue-embossed packaging with a letter from Joss Whedon. The sets are individually numbered with a run of 5,000, half on DVD (four-disc set $49.98) and half on Blu-ray (three-disc set $69.99). A limited number of copies will be available onsite for purchase.

After a short delay, presale orders were able to resume, though reports of error messages were still coming the next day.

The retail version of Dollhouse: Season One streets July 28, the week after Comic-Con.

The sets can be picked up at the Fox Booth (#1429). Photo ID is required for pickups of preorders, or buyers can designate a proxy during checkout.
