From Chud.com Buffy The Vampire SlayerE-mail From Sunnydale - Nick Brendon CareerThursday 10 April 2003, by Webmaster A couple of days ago I ran a story about what some cast members from Buffy the Vampire Slayer might be doing after the show ends next month, with a focus on actors who might be headed to the spinoff show, Angel. Well, Nicholas Brendon, who has played Xander since the first episode, was not, according to sources, heading to Angel and I hadn’t heard much about his post-Buffy career plans, other than he was up for appearing in future Mutant Enemy projects. I mourned for Nicky’s career, and it looks like I might have mourned far too early. This morning I received an e-mail from Nick’s production company, correcting some misconceptions I had. Here’s what Amy Finnigan had to say: I manage Nick Brendon’s production company. While he’s flattered to be a favorite character of yours on ’Buffy’, I’d like to address the assumption that he "doesn’t have a lot of career options." Nick is in negotiations to shoot a pilot next week. He has met with casting directors and development execs at every major network and cable channel. He, his wife Tressa and I are developing television and film projects of his own. His interest in continuing with ’Buffy’ is that he loves his character, and will miss working with Joss and the cast and crew that he’s been with for seven years. That’s certainly great to hear, and I for hope that he gets to continue working with Joss on future Buffyverse projects - and that he keeps us here at CHUD informed! |
