It’s also what Dan Aykroyd would like, if he gets his way with the highly-anticipated ‘Ghostbusters 3′. Aykroyd tells hollywood.com he’d like the next film to be a ‘passing-of-the-torch’ story, and even suggests the next team of Ghostbusters be all female.

In addition to Milano, Aykroyd also suggests Eliza Dushku become part of the Ghostbusters family. According to IMDB, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson are all signed on to reprise their roles. Rick Moranis is also rumored to return.

Noticeably absent from ‘Ghostbusters 3′ discussions? The walking Statue of Liberty is not expected to make an appearance.

And it better stay that way too.

Passing the torch is fine and all, but let’s hope that premise doesn’t relegate our favorite Ghostbuster forefathers to little more than a cameo. Because after getting sucked into the new ‘Ghostbusters’ game on Playstation 3, I want Egon, Ray, Peter and Winston back in the Ecto 1.

But then again, I also want the 1980s versions of those characters. Memoriesssssss….
