The eight-week shoot begins next Monday in northern Spain’s Basque Country under first-time Spanish helmer Alvaro de Arminan. Structured as a domestic Spanish co-production, the around Euros 5 million ($6.4 million) pic is produced by Ma-drid/Andalusia-based Manufacturas Audiovisuales and Basque company Abra Prod. anufacturas owners Juan Carlos Orihuela and Antonio Cuadri have teamed with Billy Dietrich to produce the film. Abra Prod’s partner Joxe Portela exec produces. Pic is based on a screenplay written by Roderick and Bruce Taylor ("The Brave One") and Cuadri ("The Heart of The Earth"). "I Know What You Did Last Summer" meets "Final Destination," according to Orihuela, "Mamba" turns on a group of surfer students who discover an old satanic board game called Mamba. Every time one person loses in the game, they suffer dire death.
