Yourtv.com.au Eliza DushkuEliza Dushku says "Don’t Hold Your Breath for a Dollhouse Movie"Friday 18 June 2010, by Webmaster Eliza Dushku tells TVFIX: "Don’t hold your breath for a Dollhouse movie" Joss Whedon’s beloved-but-cancelled series Firefly was adapted into the movie Serenity after it got the axe, so will his follow-up show Dollhouse also get the big-screen treatment? The show’s star warns fans not to get excited. "You never know, but I don’t think so," Eliza Dushku told TVFIX. "We really felt it was sad we didn’t get to go on and tell more stories, but it was rewarding we were able to wrap up the second season with closure." That said, Eliza admitted she’d jump at the chance to star in a Dollhouse movie — on the condition that Joss Whedon be involved (unlike that sure-to-be-awful potential Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot that was said to be going ahead without him). And since Eliza is known for TV roles where she wears tight leather pants, we couldn’t help but ask: does she also slip into leather in real life? "I do!" she laughed. "I’ve had a few pairs over the years. They’re just like a second skin and they’re actually really comfortable!" Eliza, who first became a geek hero thanks to her role as rogue slayer Faith in Buffy, spoke to TVFIX when she jetted into Australia for the pop-culture expo Supanova. "I’m thrilled to be here," she enthused, revealing that she can’t wait to "make a connection" with fans at the Supanova conventions in Sydney and Perth. "It’s an opportunity to say thank you and give back," she said. "The shows I’ve worked on have had lives because of the fans. It’s so great to meet them, and thank them." The Supanova Pop Culture Expo will be in Sydney on Saturday June 19 and Sunday June 20 at Sydney Olympic Park, and in Perth on Saturday June 26 and Sunday June 27 at Claremont Showgrounds. |
