What’s happening this season on your favorite series? This week :

How I Met Your Mother (Monday, 8:30 p.m., CBS): Ted (Josh Radnor) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) kissed in the season finale. Expect them to continue processing what that smooch meant. Meanwhile, Lily (Alyson Hannigan) is off to find herself after she broke up with Marshall (Jason Segel).

Two and a Half Men (Monday, 9 p.m., CBS): More zany, Odd Couple hijinks, no doubt.

The New Adventures of Old Christine (Monday, 9:30 p.m., CBS): Last season was the season of the cliffhanger kiss. Christine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and ex-hubby Richard (Clark Gregg) locked lips and are now dealing with the aftermath. Christine’s son’s new fourth-grade teacher (Blair Underwood) has more than homework on his mind when he meets Christine.

CSI: Miami (Monday, 10 p.m., CBS): Horatio (David Caruso) goes all Rambo as he flies to Rio to track down his wife’s killer. The show will celebrate its 100th episode later this season with a show about people who bet on who’s going to die on a certain date. Those people like to call themselves Death Pool 100. How appropriate.

NCIS (Tuesday, 8 p.m., CBS): Gibbs (Mark Harmon) lost his memory and quit at the end of last season so agent DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) takes his place.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Tuesday, 9 p.m., NBC): Gone are Jamey Sheridan, Courtney B. Vance and Annabella Sciorra. Joining the cast are Eric Bogosian as the squad’s new head cheese and Julianne Nicholson as Logan’s (Chris Noth) new partner.

The Unit (Tuesday, 9 p.m., CBS): No, Jonas (Dennis Haysbert) doesn’t die after being shot in the season finale. Look for the producers to sex-up-the show a bit by showing a little more beefcake.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Tuesday, 10 p.m., NBC): Connie Nielsen is on board for six episodes as detective Dani Beck because Mariska Hargitay’s pregnancy forced her out of action for a few weeks. Jerry Lewis guest-stars as a homeless man.

Boston Legal (Tuesday, 10 p.m., ABC): Denise (Julie Bowen) responds to Daniel’s (Michael J. Fox) marriage proposal.

Criminal Minds (Wednesday, 9 p.m., CBS): More twisted, Seven-like cases for Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) and his band of FBI profilers to solve, like the sick bank robber who likes to see his victims nude. Meanwhile, agent Greenway (Lola Glaudini) recovers from her gunshot wound.

CSI: NY (Wednesday, 10 p.m. CBS): Claire Forlani (Meet Joe Black) joins the cast as a pathologist who has the hots for Mac (Gary Sinise).

My Name Is Earl (Thursday, 8 p.m., NBC): This year we’re going to see... carnival people! Haven’t you seen the promos yet? They’re a scream! Also look for a Cops-like episode.

The Office (Thursday, 8:30 p.m., NBC): Are Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) finally going to be a couple? The producers aren’t saying. They have said, however that Dwight (Rainn Wilson) and Angela (Angela Kinsey) will attempt an office coup.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Thursday, 9 p.m. CBS): Now we know Grissom (William Petersen) and Sara (Jorja Fox) are swapping DNA samples when they’re not tracking bad guys. But the other CSIs won’t find out right away. "In this one instance, the viewers will be ahead of our CSIs," says executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. Meanwhile, Mendelsohn adds that Warrick (Gary Dourdan) is going to have a story line this season where Nick (George Eads) is going to be the one who’s there for him.

Grey’s Anatomy (Thursday, 9 p.m., ABC): Look for an immediate resolution to the Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Addison (Kate Walsh) love triangle.

ER (Thursday, 10 p.m., NBC): Everyone is blown up in the ER. OK, that’s not true. But it should happen at some point. Someone needs to pull the plug on ER - STAT! Until that happens, look for the writers to resolve May’s cliffhanger that saw Kovac (Goran Visnjic) chained to a gurney while he pregnant sweetie Abby (Maura Tierney) fell out in the hall.

Ghost Whisperer (Friday, 8 p.m., CBS): Andrea (Aisha Tyler) just died, but it sure didn’t take Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) long to find a new best friend. Filling Andrea’s pumps this season is Camryn Manheim (The Practice).

Close to Home (Friday, 9 p.m., CBS): Because Annabeth’s (Jennifer Finnigan) hubby was killed last season by a drunk driver, the show will focus more on her work life. David James Elliott (JAG) joins as Annabeth’s new boss (and potential love interest?) The series is also adding two new detectives played by Jon Seda (Homicide: Life on the Street) and Cress Williams.

Law & Order (Friday, 10 p.m., NBC): Detective Green (Jesse L. Martin) gets a new partner in the person of Milena Govich (Conviction). Alana de Le Garza (CSI: Miami) also joins as the new ADA. Those New York ADAs are sure pretty, aren’t they?

Numb3rs (Friday, 10 p.m., CBS): This season opens with guest stars Lou Diamond Phillips returning and 7th Heaven’s David Gallagher as a high school student who gets trigger happy.
