Dont get mad at me folks but I predicted this a few months back. I base this cancellation not on the numbers per se, but on the fact that Hollywood does not like Joss Wheden.
Generally speaking, the human race cannot tolerate "genius" in our midst, so we do all we can to break it down.
Dollhouse seemed like a decent show to me, maybe next time Joss should avoid FOX altogether and go with cable like SMG is currently doing with her newest venture on HBO. If Joss went that way, I bet Dollhouse would have fared much better. OH and BTW, not counting it when people set their DVR’s to record Dollhouse is just not fair. I personally, still use a VCR and I record the ep’s and then watch them later...much later...in fact, I tape them all, then watch them in the summer when everybody else is jonesing for something new and good to watch, I get to watch all the shows without pauses or breaks (DVD release comes later and is a bit costly to me anyway so I record them instead)
Anyhoo, by setting my VCR vs setting the DVR my viewing is counted when the numbers are done each week.
I know, here’s an idea. All fans of DOLLHOUSE should get rid of their DVR’s and begin recording again on their VCR’s then the numbers would be UP, UP, UP and the show would keep going instead of being canceled after 12 eps.
THE BOTTOM LINE - - - HI-TECH KILLED DOLLHOUSE - If DVR’s were never created, then everyone would tape the show on their VCR’s and the numbers would be in the stratosphere.
