Felicia Day - "Girls Go Geek" Tv Show - She is the first guest

Monday 10 August 2009, by Webmaster

My new Xbox LIVE show - Girls Go Geek

When I first started co-hosting Call for Help on G4TechTV with Leo Laporte in 2004, I definitely felt a little like a lone wolf. Although there were a few women online showcasing their technolust (if I can steal a term from my good friends at Hak5), girl geeks were not the norm.

Today, six years later, I can’t keep up with the number of women in technology, gaming, and science who are making a huge difference in the geek world and beyond. My plan over the next few months is to introduce you to some of them, thanks to a production deal my company, MGImedia, just signed with Microsoft in the U.S.

Starting the first week of August, Girls Go Geek will hit Xbox LIVE. Each week I’ll chat with a girl guest about her craft, whether she is dominating the gaming world, leading the way in the web video world, or making headlines in the technology world. I’ll also present a weekly segment featuring Xbox 360 tips, tricks, and tools.

Although the video show will highlight many lovely ladies, the content will be geared towards both guys and gals. In other words, Girls Go Geek is geared towards anyone and everyone who is interested in weekly geek speak.

For some of you who do not have an Xbox, MGImedia will eventually be posting each episode online after it first airs on Xbox LIVE. Episode One will feature an interview with The Guild’s Felicia Day, who is as smart and charming in person as she is in her award-winning online show.

Girls Go Geek would not be possible without the support of the U.S. Air Force, and, of course, Microsoft. Closer to home, thank you to the amazing MGImedia team and partners (Chris, Jeff, Marc, Ravi, and Jill, and our friends in Charlottetown, including silverorange, for helping us get the first episode out the door. Also, much thanks to George, Scott, and Jamie.
