"Derb—Those of us following your enjoyment of the ’Firefly’ series have been waiting for your comments on the ’Serenity’ movie. You remarked in The Corner last week that you had completed watching the TV series, and planned to set aside time for the movie over the weekend. As the movie turned out to be quite controversial to many of the ’Firefly’ fans who worked hard to push the movie and resurrect the series, I am interested to see what your reactions to certain events in the movie are. I’ve scanned back over the weekend’s worth of posts and haven’t yet seen anything , so am asking you to please post your response in The Corner and let us know what you thought."

I am sorry. We postponed Serenity to next weekend so my son-who hasn’t had a movie pick in a while-could watch the Steve Martin version of Sergeant Bilko. Danny, who is 10, guffawed all the way through, but the rest of us only registered a few chuckles. Chacun a son gout, and the old Phil Silvers TV series spoiled me for anyone else’s Bilko. Serenity next weekend, I hope.
