TV star Fran Kranz will be joining the cast of JOURNEYQUEST. Kranz, best known for his role as Topher Brink, the genius who programmed the dolls on Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE, is slated to play the character of Silver Tom in the second season of the comedy web series.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Fran on board,” says Matt Vancil, writer and creator of JourneyQuest. “We were really looking to broaden the scope of the series in the second season. Having an actor of his caliber join the cast is a dream come true.”

JourneyQuest, which premiered on Hulu in September, is a comedy web series set in a fantasy world of wizards and orcs. Produced by Seattle-based Zombie Orpheus Entertainment and Tacoma’s Dead Gentlemen Productions, JourneyQuest is released under a Creative Commons license.

“I love the series and am very excited to get to know everyone involved,” says Kranz. “Most importantly, it looks like you guys have a lot of fun making it and I can’t wait to join in on that.”

The second season of JourneyQuest plans to shoot this summer, with a release later in the fall. The first season is now on DVD and can be purchased at Paizo, Amazon, and the Strowlers Cooperative web store.
