Prinze Braves ’Atlanta’ for CBS

Two years after "Freddie," Freddie Prinze Jr. is hoping to find greater sitcom success on a show without his name in the title.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prinze has landed the lead in CBS’ Paul Reiser-scripted comedy "Atlanta." He plays a charming ad executive who meets a woman at a funeral and then can’t stay away from each other.

In addition to his single-season run on ABC’s "Freddie," Prinze’s credits include "Scooby-Doo," "Head Over Heels" and being Sarah Michelle Gellar’s husband.
