Trivia

He is a distant relative of the Civil War general Jubal Early, and mentioned the name and the story at some point to Joss Whedon. As a result, Joss used the name for a character in the "Firefly" (2002/I) episode, "Objects in Space".

Wanted to be a High school English teacher (a profession that runs in his family) majoring in art, minoring in drama while pursuing an acting career on the side.

Originally auditioned for the role of "Angel" for Joss Whedon’s first television series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997). However, Whedon did not remember him from that when he contacted Nathan about the part of "Mal" on "Firefly" (2002/I).
