  Don’t get me wrong, James Marsters is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE actor in the world, but I think more people (women mostly) are in love with the character Spike rather than JM himself.

  It’s not just to meet him, any convention ticket holder can do that. It’s for the whole con enchilada. Most fans can’t afford it, but if you had the money to burn and he was your favorite, why not?

  And regarding whether his fans love Spike rather than him, I guess that depends a lot, and can change upon meeting him. He’s a very likeable person who makes you forget Spike in the moment, unless you’re just in for the "bad boy vibe".

  I’d say Spike is a nice "wild" fantasy, but James is more the guy you’d like to spend time with, in the real world.

  Geraldine, people have good days and bad days. James wasn’t at this best at the Harvest. He still managed to do his best to please the fans yet. I saw him at the El Rey 3 months later in a GOTR gig, and wow... What a contrast!

  What I think is disgusting is that the retail price of the ticket that is being sold on ebay right now for the oakland con in Aug 2004 is $1000.00. But the people who put the convention together are putting on platnium ticket on ebay so they can get people to pay MORE the the $1000 for it. It’s Vulkon selling the ticket, so what they are doing is taking advantage of fans who are already paying outrageous ticket prices anyway. That’s just screwed up and money hungry!!

  If i had a lot of money i would pay anything but i dont have that so. By the way i think its absurd to be asking money for that because we are fans we pay alot of money for shows cd’s dvd’s and so much more.... And many of us dont have that kind of money lying around. BUT i do love JAMES Blond or not...
