Creator Rob Thomas has announced in an E! Online chat on September 26 that Alyson Hannigan will be returning as Trina Echolls in the ninth episode of Veronica Mars Season Two. "She’s asked to guest direct one of the Neptune High School theater productions, but that ends up being not all that’s going on and believe me, we’ll bend over backwards to put her and Charisma in a scene together," Thomas said.

Hannigan and Carpenter played Willow and Cordelia, respectively.

Also... Buffy creator Joss Whedon himself will be appearing in Season Two’s sixth episode, as a rental car employee.
