Here’s what James has said about his son at cons and in interviews. Not much!
10/18/1996 Marsters and his wife, Liane Davidson, recently added a son, Sullivan, to their family. Anyone who has met the Marsters/Davidson heir, Sullivan, might think in terms of an agent for him, too. He is what is technically known as a cutey pie. Or perhaps sweety pie is the correct phrase. Anyway, some kind of pie.
2003 “Now I drive a Honda Civic, with which I get 2.000 miles per week. My son lives with his mother which isn’t in LA. I visit him every weekend so I drive there. I miss him a lot.”
James said he had a seven-year-old son so he definitely knows Harry Potter.
"My son doesn’t see Buffy. Whereas I might show another seven year old some of the stuff I do on the show. I don’t think he wants to see Daddy doing that. And we have a very normal relationship based on Dragonball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh and Buffy really doesn’t come into it. He doesn’t like me to sign autographs when I’m with him so I don’t. He really likes that. Hollywood is a pretty plastic world and I try to keep him away from that if I can. Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I don’t talk about him very much actually."
"I have different places I live. There’s a Playstation everywhere. There’s a Playstation in my home here. I have a home in northern California."
James’ leg was in a brace; the week before he had injured his right knee after falling off a fence while playing Spy Kids 2 with his son in Modesto.
He’s all around Modesto at Hoppers and Funworks. Most of the time they spend on the farm.
James saw his son in a play. "He rocked. Another kid dropped their line—my son picked it up. Not even his line but had to be said before the whole scene could continue. But I don’t want him to be an actor; I don’t want him to be that desperate. Hopefully, I can give him that love now.”
James said if he had stayed in theater he would be sacrificing his ability to put his kid through college.
2005 "My son, he’s not into girls yet. And the other problem, he’s really cute. A lot of girls have a crush on him, like about twenty girls at his school. And, at that age, girls are really mean to boys they have a crush on, so, his day to day experience is... But I tell him it will become enjoyable later."
