James Marsters comments on the efforts to save Angel

Via his publicist Jenni Weinman, James Marsters offered the following comments to Angel’s Food Drive on fan efforts to save Angel:

"I have always been driven to passion. I try and pour it into my work and it’s the highest pleasure that I have been part of something that has awoken the passion of the fans. More than sitting around and complaining that the show is ending they have actually done something about it. Whether or not their efforts save the show is in question, but the effects of this drive, shows everyone in the TV industry that people connected with Angel. That Angel touched their hearts and that will help us all work again. Thanks to the fans for all of their efforts." - James Marsters

that would be great!!! i would be very happy with a spin off show of spike :)
  • But poor James, he’d have to go back to bleaching the hair which can’t be fun for a natural brunette.

I think a spin-off would be great, but haven’t they been talking about various spin-offs since Buffy ended? All those possibilities have yet to happen. As much as I’m going to miss the show, all good things have to end sometime. Think about it. Some of them have been doing this for 9 years. I’m going to compare this to the Friends "Joey" spin-off - it’s been going for 10 years, and now they want to probably have another 5 years with the Joey show. I figure James will probably want to try out some new characters - look at Eliza Dushku - if she had signed on to a Faith spin-off, she wouldn’t have been able to do Tru Calling. I read some where that James is already being type-cast, and that everyone wants him to "play a druggie or a vampire". If I were him, I’d want something new, at least for a few years.
