Aquaman’s getting his own spinoff! The WB isn’t saying who’s playing the part yet. I’m told it won’t be Alan Ritchson, who was Smallville’s Aquaman last month. Also, I hear they’re in talks with James Marsters to make him a series regular. No word yet on if he’s going to sign. I know his children live here in L.A., so it might be a tough sell.

Point is, Smallville is shot in Canada, as well as the Dresden files will be. So the kids would have to fly in every time they want to see their dad. As far as I know, they are not living in L.A., but still in northern California, where the rest of the family is located. But that might have changed meanwhile. Besides, Toronto doesn’t strike me as a desirable town to finish studying music for his girlfriend, so that may be a handicap that also works against a longer stay in Canada.

Smallville is filmed in Vancouver,Canada. James turned down Dresden Files because it was being filmed in Toronto. But Vancouver is at least on the West Coast and an easier commute for a Hollywood actor.

“Toronto doesn’t strike me as a desirable town to finish studying music for his girlfriend...” Well since she lives in Germany and (according to his last interview) they don’t seem to connect much (not even by phone), don’t know what difference that would make.

James lives in an apartment in Santa Monica with his niece (8). His son (9) lives with his ex-wife in Modesto, California. He turned down the Dresdan series because it was going to be filming in Canada, and he didn’t want to up-root his niece, so I’m sure he would also turn down any other show that involves him moving.

Vancouver is a considerably easier commute to California than Toronto. It’s the difference between Seattle, WA and Bangor, ME.

Okay, now please don’t anybody yell at me for asking this ’cause from looking at the other boards I’m kinda intimidated by how very passionate everyone is about the Buffy cast and their various doings but....since when has James had a kid? I swear I had no idea. I mean, I’d consider myself a huge fan of the man (how could I not after ’Touched’?) but never in any interview I’ve ever read, have I seen anything about a kid. Anyone like to fill me in?
