This month’s Blog Of The Month is totally big-time! Jane Espenson, a very successful television writer, maintains a popular blog dedicated to giving advice to aspiring screenwriters.

She updates frequently - almost every day - with tips on writing & revising spec scripts, using examples from professional writers. Her entries are helpful, fun, and friendly, with the tone of someone who really wants other people to succeed. And as far as TV writing goes, Espenson knows what she’s talking about. With writing credits on shows like Angel, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, The O.C., Andy Barker PI, and The Batman, and executive producer credits on Battlestar Gallactica and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, she’s exactly who you’d want to get writing advice from.

While her writing and pitching tips are first rate, the fact that she even bothers with the blog is also inspiring. Not too many people as successful as Espenson would bother to devote so much energy and time to helping out newcomers in their feild. Which goes to prove that Jane Espenson is not just big-time, she’s classy.
