Last we heard from director Edgar Wright, he was planning a return to work on the "Ant-Man" movie once all of the madness surrounding "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" had died down a bit. However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t taking meetings about the size-changing Marvel hero — including discussions with unconfirmed-but-likely "Avengers" director Joss Whedon.

In fact, Wright told MTV News on the red carpet for the MTV Movie Awards that he and Whedon not only discussed their respective Marvel projects, they also became friends... with benefits!

"I did, I did," said Wright when asked if he had indeed met with Whedon. "We actually met at Marvel. I was having a meeting and then he was having the next meeting. We met and then we got together for a drink after that."

Pressed for more information about their discussions, Wright revealed that their get-together resulted in a truly scandalous relationship.

"Alright, we’re having sex together," joked Wright. "We’re having an affair. Me and Joss Whedon are totally f---ing."

All jokes aside, Wright went on to heap praise on Whedon for taking the gig and predicted good things for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

"His ensemble work is really great," the director said of Whedon. "I think he’s doing stuff on the script as well. I wouldn’t even know where to start with ’The Avengers.’ It’s too ambitious for me."

"I think it’s exciting that he’s doing it," he added.
