Tvshowsondvd.com Joss WhedonJoss Whedon - "My So-Called Life" Tv Series - DVD Re-edition - He will talk in the extrasThursday 14 June 2007, by Webmaster My So-Called Life - Various Updates About Shout!’s Release Discuss Cost, Box, Extras 6-DVD set on October 30, 2007 It’s been well over a month now since we first reported that My So-Called Life will see a re-release on DVD, this time from Shout! Factory. The key points we knew at the time was that the 6-disc set would contain all the episodes, with all the original music intact, and with extras as well (although they were unknown at the time), and would come out on October 30th. Now we have a few updates for you! Trade magazine Video Business reported in a recent edition that the cost is planned to be $69.99. Fans will remember that the "generic" version of the original release went for twenty dollars more than that, and the special "lunchbox" edition of the 2002 DVD version was $115. According to the trade mag report, online auctions can "go for upward of $200 to $300". So fans who missed out on those releases will be heartened to know that they can get this new edition for a street price roughly in the range of $50, after retailer discounts. VB also reported that the new set will be in "a keepsake box", but had no description of it, nor have we been able to dig up any pictures as of yet. Stay tuned; we’re still working on it! The package will also include a collectible 32-page booklet "compiling MSCL fan testimonials from such high-profile personalities as Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon and comedian Janeane Garafalo.". Extras are discussed in the trade mag’s story, with the following all quotes from the Susanne Ault-written article: * "Four featurettes, covering character profiles and behind-the-scenes activities, also are in production." * "Commentaries and interviews with creator Winnie Holzman and executive producers Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz." * "MSCL stars Claire Danes and Jared Leto are being approached to participate as well, with Leto appearing the most likely to come on board." * "...Lorrie Shapiro, Shout! VP of DVD and video production, has been reaching out to fan Web site www.mscl.com for input on the content. Of the planned extras, Shapiro is especially excited about including a note detailing Holzman’s plot ideas for a never-realized second season of the show. That and other script elements, including first drafts of the pilot, might be featured as downloads that people can access through a DVD-ROM Web link." |
