Lindsay Lohan is Sailor Moon?

Here’s one from deep in the files of "Dear God, please let this never happen," although I already envision an army of rabid fanboys beating a path to my door to kill me for saying that. The story comes from the Japanese magazine called Animage, who report Fox has claimed the rights to Sailor Moon, and hopes to make a live-action, English langauage version of the popular story. And that’s not all! The magazine further reports Fox’s desire to enlist the writing/directing talents of geek kingpin Joss Whedon, and the acting ... erhem ... talents of Lindsay Lohan, presumably for the title character.

Now I know a lot of you out there are excited by the idea of Lindsay Lohan in a magical school-girl costume, and I know you are already enraged at the idea of anyone suggesting it shouldn’t happen, so please don’t destroy me in your righteous fanboy wrath. Frankly, I just think there are a dozen or so other anime titles I’d much rather see on the silver screen before Sailor Moon. I don’t have anything against it, per se, I just wouldn’t put it on the top of the list if we’re talking about anime being turned into American film.

    That’s HORRIBLE! If Lindsey plays Sailor Moon the show will be forever ruined. I’d have to burn all my manga and anime-dvd’s. Horrible, horrible idea.

    So, just because this writer doesn’t particularly want to see a Sailor Moon movie, it shouldn’t be made? That’s the kind of "review" I find utterly useless.

    I agree that Lindsay Lohan is the wrong choice. Sailor Moon is a petite blonde, and kind of naive. I could see Gwyneth Paltrow, or Allison Michaela. Lohan would be good as Sailor Mars or another character, but she’s probly not about to accept a supporting role. Hey, how about Lohan as Queen Beryl? Give her a chance to strut her stuff as a REAL mean girl!

    Actually I don’t think it would be that bad whatsoever, I would ask Joss to actually do it, the strong female characters are his specialty and I doubt it won’t be a blast

    OMG PLEASE! IF THIS IS TRUE AND IF WHOEVER IS ON BOARD THIS PROJECT EVER READS THIS, PLEASE DON’T CAST LINDSAY LOHAN! YOU NEED A GOOD, SWEET NATURED GIRL TO PLAY THIS ROLE. THE FACT THAT LINDSAYS IMAGE IS NO WHERE NEAR THAT, WILL THROW THE STORY COMPLETELY OFF! THE FRANCHISE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR THIS AND IT’LL RUIN EVERYTHING.

    No!! I mean I love that manga and I loved the anime and there is no way in hell fox can take a piece of my childhood like that and shove lindsay Lohan into it corrupting my youth!! I won’t stand for this! I just won’t.

    Considering Buffy was pretty much Sailor moon with vampires, this is not a bad choice of director. I wonder who they’ll get to play Angel...I mean Tuxedo Mask

    its not true i did some research and saw that the magazine had nothing like that printed. Its just a bunch of idiots spreading a rumor. The thing about rumors are people want to believe it so much, the producers, directors see that the public wants it to be true and they generate these movies just to give something to do.
