Who might direct and who wants to star?

December 14, 2004 - Ain’t It Cool News reports a rumor that Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will likely write and direct Wonder Woman for producer Joel Silver and Warner Brothers.

AICN’s scooper claims that "the only possible thing standing in this picture’s way is X-Men 3. I know what’s been said, but Fox is still coming after (Whedon) hard to direct that, and that’s a tough thing for a guy like Joss to pass up. But he probably will. For Wonder Woman," which the scooper adds is slated for a 2006 release.

In related news, Sci Fi Wire interviewed Phantom of the Opera co-star Minnie Driver who expressed her desire to play the Amazonian superheroine. "I think you’re probably going to see Catherine Zeta-Jones squished into a corset and a pair of shorts quicker than you’d see me," said Driver. "I might have more currency now, after Phantom, because she is an operatic superhero, in my opinion."
