Joss Whedon - Zeta-Jones, Bullock ’too old’ for "Wonder Woman" role

Friday 5 August 2005, by Webmaster

Hollywood beauties Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sandra Bullock have been dismissed as too old to play superheroine Wonder Woman in a new movie version of the TV series - by the show’s original star.

Lynda Carter, who starred in the original 1970s show, would prefer to see Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon cast a young actress in the lead role rather than any established stars who have been linked with the part.

She says: "It should be an unknown actress who’s about 20."

The OC’s Mischa Barton and Tom Cruise’s fiancee Katie Holmes are said to be amongst Whedon’s prime candidates for his 2007 release.
