I just wanna say that I slept with a lot of people to get this award and they were all very gentle and cuddled...

God bless you, FilmFocus staff, for being cuddlers.

I’ve worked on this for so many years so I really appreciate this award. It’s why I did it.

Well, I mean, not for this. I didn’t say,

’God, I’ve got to win a FilmFocus Award - I know! I’ll make a movie of Firefly!’

But my only motivation was that people would get it and get a kick out of it.

And this means a lot because there were a lot of movies I really liked this year. Unlike a lot of previous years.

But no! Serenity beats them all! Sweet!

When Nathan won a Saturn he came around to my house wearing it around his neck, putting his chest forward so I’d see and said, ’Oh, I’m sorry, I completely forgot I was wearing it!’

So now... Payback!"
